Grandma's Still in the Hospital

Hello Friends,

We are sorry for the delay in getting an update out but things have been up in the air for a bit now and we wanted to make sure we had some information that wasn't going to change minutes after it's posted. Although that could still be the case, I think we can safely explain what is happening at this point.

Mary Alice has been recovering quite well. Although she has had no complications, they are watching her at this point to make sure nothing is "brewing" like an infection at the incision and/or breathing problems due to something other than asthma or pneumonia. She has been having labored breathing and although it can be normal due to the re-synchronizing of the heart and lungs after surgery, they are not sure of the cause yet. A couple more days in the hospital is in order but we are glad they are watching her so well. She is frustrated and would like to be home but knows it is important to stay in the hospital until she is at the right stage to come home. Megan and I are continuing to visit and work around the needs of her hospital stay and taking care of the needs of her home. We are looking forward to her release date which will make it one step closer to coming home ourselves.

Thank you for your continued prayers and we will make sure to give you another update again soon.

Maureen & Megan :)
